What does raw vegan cuisine look like? If you’re conjuring up images of plain sauceless salads and bird seeds, you’d be wrong. Here to prove that is Ma… and The Seeds of Life, a restaurant that explores vegan dining to a whole new level. Offering ingredients that are not cooked, but soaked, sprouted, dehydrated, or gently warmed up means the food is still packed with nutrients. Think Portobello mushrooms with cashew truffle sauce as burgers ($250), zoodles topped with caper and black olive sauce or pesto with pine nut and arugula ($198), and even desserts such as cheesecake made with fermented nut cheese brightened by the zest of passion fruit or lychee rose ($75).
