Traditional dai pai dong in Stanley
There’s not many traditional dai pai dongs left in Hong Kong, and even fewer to be in Stanley. Si Yik happens to be one of them. The most iconic dish here is the Hong Kong-style kaya French toast. Incredibly fluffy and thick, what makes the toast different from the rest is their lack of syrup in the recipe – which is a must for the Hong Kong-style – without losing the sweet characteristic. Other classic cha chaan teng food is can be ordered including satay beef sandwiches and pineapple bun with butter.
