Masquerading under the label of a private kitchen, Xi Yan is in reality quite spacious and does not have the cosy ambiance one might expect. However, Jacky Yu, designer-turned-celebrity chef, has done a great job with his modern interpretation of traditional Chinese cuisine. The set menus include such staples as spicy Sichuan chicken, homemade cold bean curd and braised pork belly. Reservations are required. $1,000.
