Yakiniku Like is a popular hitori yakiniku (one-person barbecue) restaurant from Tokyo and now, the fast-casual chain has opened its first-ever venue on Hong Kong island. The brand boasts branches across Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia and now, they're expanding in Hong Kong with branches in Sha Tin, Kwai Fong, Mongkok and Sheung Shui (opening soon).
The Sheung Wan restaurant is located in Shun Tak Centre, right opposite the Macau ferry terminal, and brings its affordable barbecue to town with a range of set menus (starting from $48) which comes with rice, soup and kimchi or salad, as well as a la carte items (from as low as $18 for a small plate of karubi beef) at incredibly affordable prices so you can do your worst. Yakiniku Like offers everything from Wagyu steak and other beef cuts to pork belly, chicken and even a plant-based protein called 'Next Meat'. They also have monthly specials that will feature premium meats and flavours.
Orders are taken via QR code which makes it a quick and (mostly) contactless experience. Enjoy your barbecue at the solo grills or sit at one of the tables made for two or four. In Hong Kong, you can enjoy all the Japanese dipping sauces including a cheesy curry that makes everything taste good, and two exclusive ones: a spicy Korean sauce and creamy sesame dressing.
