Local theater company HK Shadow Players, a group formed by professors and graduates from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Hong Kong, is putting another one of their signature updated Western classics, and this time, they're adapting the French satirical comedy the Learned Ladies to set in modern Hong Kong. The play follows the courtship of Henrietta and Sebastian as he seeks to the approval of Henrietta's pretentious family, who are so called 'learned' ladies. With many relevant themes like the battle of classes and feminism, expect the play to be entertaining and enlightening.
