Taking place inside the walls of Beijing's Forbidden City, weddings of the Qing emperors incorporated elements of Manchu culture and were extravagant affairs involving elaborate rituals and customs. Over 153 items from Beijing's Palace Museum including wedding garments, dowry objects and more will be on display at this exhibition, as well as artefacts from local museum collections highlighting marriage traditions from the south of China.
