Get ready to say “prost” with Happy Wednesday’s Oktoberfest and Beerfest happenings. This month, Happy Valley Racecourse is transforming its grounds into a lively beer garden for three consecutive weeks, offering racing, live entertainment, Bavarian bites, and an authentically German experience in the heart of Hong Kong. The festivities officially kick off on October 7 with an opening ceremony led by Dr Annika Bolten-Drutschmann, Consul General of Germany to Hong Kong and Macau, and Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, Chief Executive Officer of The Hong Kong Jockey Club.
After marking the beginning of Oktoberfest, have a blast as German folk band Die Notenhobler perform energetic Bavarian tunes throughout the evening, and catch dance performances to amp up the atmosphere. Then, keep the party going as the celebrations transition into Beerfest on the following two weeks. Catch high-energy performances from Phil D and Joanna Leane on October 14, and cap off the celebrations on October 21 as MsLolo delivers powerful vocals.
Throughout the festive happenings, attendees can load up on a wide range of authentic Bavarian delicacies. Sink your teeth into crispy roasted pork knuckles, German pretzels, and sauerbraten, and be sure to wash everything down with classic German beers like Löwenbräu, Paulaner, and Erdinger. While you're there, put your palate to the test in the popular Beer Tasting Challenge for a chance to win prizes, and snap some memories at the Bavarian-inspired photo spots dotted across the Beer Garden.
Alternatively, book your tables for Happy Valley Racecourse’s dining venues such as The Beat, Vantage, Keiba, and The Gallery. Head to Happy Wednesday’s website to stay updated with all the Oktoberfest celebrations.
