Every four years, the Rugby World Cup brings together the top men’s rugby international teams for a six-week tournament. Coming into its ninth year, the Rugby World Cup will be hosted for the first time in Asia in Japan.

From grassroots to the international stage, Hong Kong is known for its enthusiasm (an understatement) for the sport. With a global reputation for hosting the biggest 7s tournament in the World Rugby circuit, Hong Kong will most definitely be watching. As official sponsors of the Rugby World Cup, Societe Generale and HKRUCF (Hong Kong Rugby Union Community Foundation) will be celebrating this momentous occasion in sport by hosting an official Rugby World Cup 2019 Fanzone at AIA Vitality Park (Hong Kong Observation Wheel) for the full 44 days of RWC 2019.

From September 20 to November 2, the Societe Generale RWC 2019 Fanzone will be open to the public from 11am to 11pm daily. Spectators in the Fanzone can look forward to watching all 48 live-stream matches on high definition LED screens while lounging in a comfy outdoor space. In addition to live Q&A sessions with iconic rugby faces, there will be official merchandise, food and drink, along with live music and DJ sets providing the soundtrack to your Fanzone experience.

The Fanzone will also host country-specific entertainment based on the match schedule such as Haka, Scottish pipes, French Oompah band, Morris dancers and more. On non-match days, young, budding athletes can participate in mini rugby clinics for local primary schools. Admission to the Societe Generale RWC2019 Fanzone is free of charge and managed on a first-come-first-served basis, so be sure to check out the match schedule and plan ahead.
