Time Out says

West Kowloon Cultural District's Art Park is a prime spot for viewing the Victoria Harbour during sunset. If you are looking for more than just a picnic, rent a bike to ride around the area or visit places like M+, the Hong Kong Palace Museum, or Freespace for a dose of art and culture. If packing a meal is too much hassle, there are also a number of pet-friendly eateries nearby so you can get food on-site even if you bring along your furry friends.

What’s on

Freespace Jazz Fest 2024

West Kowloon’s flagship yearly music event is back for its sixth edition. This year’s festival will see an all-star lineup of over 100 jazz musicians from around the world, gathered in Hong Kong for a series of ticketed and free performances. We can’t wait to see the legendary Herbie Hancock, who has won 14 Grammys and is finally returning to a Hong Kong stage after more than a decade away. Other highlights include renowned composer Antonio Sánchez performing his award-winning score for Birdman live alongside the entire movie; Joey Alexander, one of the most gifted young contemporary jazz musicians; pianist Ted Lo – Hong Kong’s godfather of jazz – performing with the best of our new-gen jazz musicians; as well as the Patrick Lui Jazz Orchestra with Cantopop band Rubberband. Tickets range from $380 to $1,280, depending on the performance, while a range of other programmes are free to attend.

Colde 2024 Blueprint Asia tour

South Korean rapper, R&B songwriter, and producer Colde will be performing on a Hong Kong stage for the first time in November. Through October and November, the artist will be going on his Asia and Oceania tour, putting on shows in Jakarta, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Taipei, before coming to Hong Kong, and then heading off a few days later for a handful of cities in Australia and Thailand. Colde has had several stunning collaborations with artists like RM, Baekhyun, and (G)I-dle’s Soyeon, and also produced music for the likes of SHINee, on top of his own solo hits such as Nirvana Blues and Star – so expect to treat your ears during his set. The Hong Kong leg of his Blueprint concert is actually part of the upcoming HKT x WestK Popfest, which means with one ticket, you can essentially catch Colde’s concert alongside a range of other musicians and activities.
