Still on a high from the Hong Kong Sevens and looking for more live rugby action? Well, you’re in luck because there’s even more heart-pumping action coming our way with the launch of the Global Rapid Rugby Showcase Series. Having just kicked off on March 20 in Perth, Australia, the series is going on the road through the Asia Pacific region and bringing two thrilling matches in Hong Kong on April 21 and May 12, which see the newly-formed Greater Bay Area-based professional rugby team FWD South China Tigers joining the ranks for the first time.

Rapid Rugby consists of, you guessed it, fast-paced, 70-minute matches. Meaning all the best plays and gripping action packed into 70 minutes. That’s not all. These rapid games will also feature innovative new rules, promising fast-scoring games and 15 percent more ball-in-play time than your average rugby match. On top of top-notch stadium entertainment on site, The Rapid Rugby Showcase will have you sitting at the edge of your seat!

South China Tigers features an impressive lineup, including players from the Hong Kong National team, top Premiership players and four superstar international signings: the UK’s all-time leading try scorer Tom Varndell, Fijian Olympic gold medalist Samisoni Viriviri, and Chinese National stars Ma Chong and Liu Jun-kui.

The April 21 match sees the Tigers facing off with the Asia Pacific Dragons, which brings together players from the Pacific Islands and those with heritage in the Islands, at Aberdeen Sports Ground. Support the home team and cheer on the South China Tigers once again on May 12 as they take on the Western Force, hailing from Western Australia. Rugby fans, you don’t want to sit this one out so get your tickets now!

Interested in a piece of the action? Good. Because we’re giving away one pair of combo tickets to both the April 21 and May 12 matches. Click here to register!
