Writing fiction for Hong Kong children in English

Einstein was once asked by a mother how best to educate her children. “Read them fairytales,” he said. But how to make them as intelligent as him? Einstein smiled and replied: “Read them more fairytales.” It’s in this spirit that writer Jane Houng tackles the issue of why Hong Kong, with all its cultural diversity, has no Harry Potter of its own to inspire children.
