Time Out says
HKG is Hong Kong’s modern international airport
Constructed on the artificial island of Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong International Airport opened in 1998 after the closure of the city’s previous international airport, Kai Tak, in Kowloon. One of the busiest airports in the world, more than 100 airlines operate flights from the airport to over 180 cities across the globe.
