Sweating it out in a yoga studio isn’t exactly the first thing we think of when we think Christmas. But there’s no reason your workouts can’t be sprinkled with a little seasonal sparkle in the run up to December 25. ’Tis the season to treat yourself, after all, so in between enormous mouthfuls of mince pie, why not try one of these fun, festive classes.

Christmas Karma Community Class

Escape the frantic festive build-up with a totally chilled afternoon designed to calm the Christmas chaos and embrace the season of goodwill. MoreYoga’s new Soho studio is hosting an hour of yoga and meditation on December 8, 4.30pm-5.30pm, where you pay what you can. All donations go to homeless charity Centrepoint. MoreYoga Soho. Sat Dec 8. Pay by donation.

Crisis at Christmas

FLY LDN yoga studio is putting on a special seasonal Heat Heart Flow, a dynamic heart-opening class that aims to leave you feeling blissed out in body and mind. Those feelgood vibes will be enhanced by the fact that 100 percent of profits from the two-hour class will be going to charity Crisis at Christmas. FLY LDN. Sat Dec 8. £25.

Voga X Disco Barre Xmas Party

This Christmas, The Refinery is merging two classes influenced by club culture for a banging party. Voga and Disco Barre are joining forces for a unique workout, where the aim is to zone into the beat and achieve that ‘dance like nobody’s watching’ feeling. The class will kick off with a 45-minute hardcore barre class, followed by a 45-minute Voga sesh. Hang about afterwards for a glass of something sparkly in the studio. The Refinery. Dec 14. £25.

Christmas Beats ’n’ Cleats

Head to Digme’s London studios on December 18 for a Christmas-inspired Beats ’n’ Cleats class. Riders are invited – nay, encouraged – to attend in fancy dress, while the ride will take place to a soundtrack of classic Christmas bangers. Expect prizes for the best costumes as well as seasonal snacks and drinks post-class. #balance. All Digme studios. Dec 18. £20.

Jingle Bell Rock Dance Workshop

The antidote to embarrassing yourself at your office party? Cutting loose, Regina George-style, at Frame’s ‘Mean Girls’-inspired class. Whether or not your coordination skills are anything to write home about, you’ll have nailed the choreography to this seasonal classic by the end of the workshop. Just don’t forget that Santa outfit or you’ll look a right fool. Frame Fitzrovia. Dec 20. £20.

‘Nutcracker’ Ballet Class

Always dreamed of dancing like a Sugar Plum Fairy? Who hasn’t? This class is for pirouetting pros, former child ballet class attendees or total newbies. The premise is simple: you just turn up and dance along to ‘The Nutcracker’. Tutus and stage-worthy theatrics optional. Frame Victoria. Dec 22. £20.

Christmas Cycle

If you’re thinking about hitting the gym in next January (new year, new you and all that), why not start early by heading to Another_Space’s Christmas Cycle classes? The fitness studio is offering classes throughout December, the perfect opportunity to work up a sweat to some festive favourites. After your workout, treat yourself to some mulled wine and mince pies. It’s only right. Covent Garden and Bank. Across December. £20.
