Cosy winter pop-ups in London
For a wintry trip to Oz
This year, the Queen of Hoxton’s rooftop spot has transformed into the Emerald City for the festive period. Follow the yellow brick road and check out the Emerald Garden, hearty Kansas style food, fire pits with toasty marshmallows and a hidden bar serving up hot and cold green cocktail delights.
For a Christmassy atmosphere
New York’s famous Miracle on Ninth Street bar is returning to London with a pop-up in London for the festive season. Unsurprisingly, Miracle really goes for it with the Christmas theme. There’ll be ’50s Christmas decorations, nostalgic alpine-themed accessories and menu of creative takes on old school cocktails to choose from. Think of the ’60s stop-motion version of ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer’ and you'll have your finger on the vibe of this wistful pop-up. We’re dreaming of a kitsch Christmas...
For dinner in a dome
The Coppa Club’s PVC riverside igloos are back for another year of cosiness, snug sheepskin blankets, festive snacks and stunning views of the London skyline. Sip on cocktails and sample a quirky-sounding menu, surrounded by twinkling city lights.
For an outdoor hot tub
All the mulled wine and blankets in the world don’t change the fact that many of these cosy pop-ups involve socialising outdoors, or on a rooftop, in winter. Winterland in Fulham has come up with a sort-of solution: hot tubs – Nordic woodland hot tubs to be precise. The makeshift ‘beach’ in Fulham is bringing the bubbly pools of festive joy to south London this Christmas. Book one, and you and five friends will be waited on hand and foot, meaning you can stock up on mulled wine or hot gin from the Moose Bar without having to shuffle a flip-flop.
For a hot cup of cider
Cider cocktails made to order (hot, cold, and some made with Rekorderlig's new spiced plum cider), fire pits, Swedish food and a photo booth make the Cider Lodge a neat riverside drinking hole on the Southbank this Christmas. Skål!
For rooftop feasts
Pergola Paddington is set to be decked out as an urban winter forest, for all you Londoners craving a bit of festive greenery.
Enter through a tunnel of stars, and before long you'll be sipping on a warming cocktail while chowing down on street food from legendary vendors such as An Choi, Babek Brothers, Temaki Bros and Smash Patty.
For a south London Christmas
Brixton Village favourite Lost In Brixton is suiting up for Christmas, a wintery makeover coming complete with table service from in-village eatery favourites such as Fish Wings & Tings, Jalisco, Honest Burger, Seven Brixton and Thunderbird. You can also grab two for one cocktails on weekday evenings. Winner winner.
