We curate an LA weekend itinerary of the city's best concerts, culture and cuisine, every week, just for you.

Friday

See the LA Zoo in a whole new light during the final evening of Roaring Nights at the Zoo. This special after-hours series boasts everything from live music and a dance party to pop-up zookeeper talks and live animal encounters.

Over on the other side of Griffith Park, catch a show from hometown favorites Local Natives. The beloved Silver Lake five-piece band is bringing its soaring, sweetly melodic and slightly mournful alt-pop to the Greek Theatre.

It feels way too early to be talking about Halloween events, but nonetheless Halloween Horror Nights kicks off at Universal Studios tonight. This year's new additions include experiences based on the Exorcist and American Horror Story. Go tonight and you'll save $30 off peak prices.

Saturday

Visit Gagosian Gallery in Beverly Hills to see the just-opened "Line Into Color, Color Into Line: Helen Frankenthaler," a collection of 18 paintings from the abstract expressionist artist. Her techniques are often mentioned in the same breath as Jackson Pollock, but Frankenthaler's color stained canvases are singularly and beautifully hers.

On the other side of town, get to know Downtown Glendale at the Glendale Open Arts & Music Festival. This inaugural free community festival features music performances, art markets, beer and wine gardens and half-off access to the Museum of Neon Art.

Take your pick between three top-notch shows tonight. Chance the Rapper is bringing virtuosically soulful rhymes to the Greek Theatre—and we wouldn't be surprised if he brings Coloring Book collaborators 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne along with him as well.

Alternatively, head to the Hollywood Bowl for a late-season knockout of a concert. Watch L.A.'s most unique, experimental beat scene take to the big stage as Flying Lotus, the Gaslamp Killer, Shabazz Places and George Clinton perform as part of Brainfeeder at the Hollywood Bowl.

If you're more in the mood for comedy, make your way to Largo for Big Terrific. Max Silvestri, Jenny Slate and Gabe Liedman revive the giddy vibe they cultivated at their late-aughts Brooklyn stand-up show for an L.A. revival.

Sunday

Go green Sunday morning at the LA Green Festival. More than 250 exhibitors are coming together at the L.A. Convention Center for a weekend of pro-planet lectures, demonstrations and merchandise.

Scope out works from up-and-coming local artists at Open Call 2016: Play. The exhibition wraps up its monthlong showcase of budding artists, from ambitious students to talented hobbyists, at Barnsdall Art Park's Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery.

Close out your weekend back at the Hollywood Bowl for Kraftwerk 3-D. The krautrock and electronic pioneers appear here under quartet's "Kraftwerk 3-D" moniker—a projection and animation-filled spectacle that brings the proto-techno group into the 21st century.
