This city may have great weather throughout the year, but summer is arguably the best time to explore Los Angeles, with longer days, cooler nights and an endless list of things to do. To celebrate the season, we teamed up with Francis Coppola Diamond Collection wines to bring you some of the best summertime adventures you can have right here in your favorite city.

Check 'em out:

Catch an outdoor movie

Whether it’s Dirty Dancing at Cinespia in Hollywood Forever Cemetery or Raiders of the Lost Ark at Rooftop Cinema Club on a Downtown rooftop, L.A. has screenings almost every night. Grab some popcorn and a bottle of red—and don’t forget a bottle opener!

Cheer at a Dodgers game

Settle into the bleachers with a beer (or glass of wine, if that’s more your thing) and some cracker jack to root for the home team—then grab a cheap bite or drink after the game. Go blue!

Pack a picnic for the Hollywood Bowl

Pack a picnic for the Hollywood Bowl

Catching a show under the stars at the Hollywood Bowl is a summertime rite of passage for all Angelenos. The best part? You can pack your own picnic spread and your favorite wine—we recommed the Diamond Collection Cabernet Sauvignon—to enjoy during the show.

Pedal boat around a lake

Head to Echo Park Lake for a stroll, quick bite or a pedal around the lake. You can pedal to the middle and lounge in the sun, letting your boat drift past lotus flowers and families of ducks.

Grab lunch from a food truck

Grab lunch from a food truck

Forgo your sad brown bagged lunch in favor of one of L.A.’s best mobile eateries. Order at the truck window and find a bench or shady patch of grass; there’s nothing like alfresco dining in the middle of the day.

Hike Griffith Park

Grab a bud and a sturdy pair of boots for a hike that will take you past the Griffith Park Observatory and the Hollywood Sign for a view overlooking the entire city. It’s a haul that will definitely earn you a glass (or three) of wine afterward.

Hit up some free outdoor entertainment

There are tons of free summer concerts and theater productions across the city this summer—and some even let you bring your own booze. Grab a bottle of Diamond Collection Pinot Grigio and get ready to groove.

Sip drinks at a rooftop bar

Watch one of L.A.’s gorgeous sunsets at a rooftop bar where the views rightfully rival the booze, whether you’re overlooking the ocean or a twinkling city skyline.

Rock out at a music fest

Stroll along Abbot Kinney Boulevard, the beach-adjacent street filled with unique boutiques, beach cruisers and hip bars and coffee shops. Grab a latte or glass of wine when you need a shopping break.
