Time Out says

If you haven't been to Italy to see the real Sistine Chapel, this is the next best thing

If your plans to travel have been thwarted by the pandemic, get a little taste of Italy through an exciting and immersive exhibition of one of Rome's most iconic artworks on Level 4 of Emporium Melbourne.

From January 22 until March 20, you're invited to visit Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition and step into the universe of the Italian painter's masterpieces. Visitors will be able to see every detail, brushstroke and colour of his masterpieces up close and at eye level.

This exhibition, which launched in Los Angeles and has since had sold out openings in cities across the globe, uses high-definition photos and a special printing process to emulate the look and feel of the original paintings.

Visitors can choose to walk through the installation on their own and at their own pace or rent an audio guide and listen to around an hour of in-depth commentary while they explore.

The exhibition will be open on Wednesdays through Sundays from 10am until 6pm. Tickets start at $28 for an adult and can be booked through the Fever website
