The tenth annual Good Beer Week (May 14-23) is a nine-day celebration of all things frothy and hoppy. If you can only get to one thing each day, these are our picks of the Good Beer Week festival program.

Check out Melbourne's 50 best pubs if you're seeking even more beer.

The festival’s signature long lunch is taking place at Arbory Bar and Eatery this year. Arbory chef Nick Bennett and a group of his loosest chef mates will plate up dishes that pair perfectly with beer. The chefs in question? James Gibson (Arbory), Renee Trudeau (Little Latin Lucy) and Oliver Hagen (Hagen Organic Butchers). And the breweries in question? Stomping Ground Brewing Co, Pirate Life Brewing Co, Mountain Goat and Wolf of the Willows.

Triple R radio presenter Cam Smith will host the lunch and guide guests through each course with a little one-on-one with each chef, too.

Saturday May 15, noon-3pm. $80.

Some might say the west is best, and events like this might just prove that. Well-loved Yarraville cinema the Sun Theatre is teaming up with female-led brewery Two Birds Brewing to put on drinks and a show. Head along for a screening of Thelma and Louise (introduced by Two Birds' very own Jayne) and grab two complimentary Two Birds Brewery beers to sip on during the film. Following this, the Sun will open its bar, Le Salon, to purchase and enjoy further beers from the Two Birds range.

Sunday May 23, 2-4pm. $35.

Surf's up at Melbourne's first surf park, Urbnsurf. Catch some waves for about an hour and after working up quite an appetite, guests can head to the on-site restaurant, Three Blue Ducks, for a pint by Bridge Road Brewers and a beer-matched lunch.

Sunday May 23, 11am-2pm. $135.

This one's for those who love a slapstick brawl. Think chair smashing, testosterone-fuelled faux-violence (AKA wrestling by Wrestlerock) paired with Moon Dog's beers and seltzers and burgers by Beatbox Kitchen.

This is a standing event at Moon Dog OG in Abbotsford. If you need a moment of reprieve, the bar next door will be open all day from noon.

Saturday May 15, 7-11pm. $40.

New Zealand brewery Garage Project is teaming up with Falco Bakery to amp up the nostalgia by bringing you the classic milk bar experience – except this time it will be spiked with booze.

You'll be able to sample limited-release and new beers by Garage Project paired with some of Falco's baked goods.

Saturday, May 22 and 23, noon-6pm. Free.

Kick on for more beer
