Ah, Meredith: land of excellent line-ups, magical fairy lights, Pink Flamingo cocktails and of course, the glorious Supernatural Amphitheatre.

This morning, Aunty Meredith has announced that the ballot for the music festival's 27th year is now open. If you're not aware of how the process for getting tickets to Melbourne's favourite boutique festival works, then here's the deal: you sign up to the ballot, and wait to find out if your name is drawn. If you're one of the lucky ones, then Aunty will send you a ballot code to purchase tickets once they go on sale. There are several rounds of ballot picks, and if you still haven't been successful, then your last chance is to buy remaining tickets on the website, or line up at one of a select few record shops and buy them in person (so retro!).

You can enter the ballot here.

And, as it custom for the Meredith announcement, they've also unveiled this year's first headliner: Aldous Harding

Aldous Harding

That's right, folks: New Zealand's own "gothic folk" singer-songwriter will be bringing her genre-defying songs to the 'Sup, including tracks from her new album, Party.

Stay tuned as we reveal more of the Meredith headliners as they are announced.
