Please tick yes to confirm you understand that you will be performing naked.

It’s not something you’d generally see on a volunteer sign-up form – but that’s exactly what Glasgow-based artist Nic Green is asking of women of Melbourne for her theatre show, Trilogy.

Several years ago, Green sought to examine the relationship between women and their bodies. The result was Trilogy – a three-part performance which builds to an exuberant naked dance, where more than 100 women of all ages, shapes and abilities come together to celebrate their diversity in a world that often demands sameness. Green aims to create a space where women can share in the experience with members of their own community – which is why it is essential that the volunteers come from the city where the show is being performed.

And that’s where you come in. Arts House, bringing Trilogy to Melbourne in June, is currently calling for female volunteers to be part of the performance. The only criteria is that you must be available for rehearsals from Wednesday June 9 and for the performances which run from Monday June 20-26. The whole process has been described by past participants as being joyful and empowering.

Any women hoping to participate can sign up by visiting the Arts House website.
