Clown, musical comedy, sketch, character comedy and improvised audience interaction – sounds like a recipe for a zany time, right? That’s exactly what’s on the agenda at Butterfly, the latest show from Melbourne local and RAW Comedy state finalist Jon Walpole.
He’s toured as part of Edinburgh Fringe, studied clowning at France’s famous Ecole Philippe Gaulier and now he’s back home to see what happens when a silly goose tries to make a “deep” comedy show, even when he has “absolutely nothing of value to say” (Walpole’s words, not ours).
If this show is anything like his previous outings at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, you can expect to leave Butterfly with sore abs, tears in your eyes and an appreciation for Walpole’s unique comedic style.
