Home Alone in Concert with the MSO
Time Out says
The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is performing music from this seminal Christmas flick
Is it even Christmas if you don't have your annual screening of Home Alone? Well, this year you’re invited to kick things up a notch.
Head along to the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s special screening of the original Home Alone film. The MSO will be conducted by Benjamin Northey and will be joined by a full choir to recreate the original score composed by the man-who-composed-everything-great-but-I-somehow-didn’t-realise-composed-Home-Alone, John Williams.
The 1990 film, as you may recall, follows Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister who is left home alone (duh) in Chicago when his family leaves for a Christmas holiday. Kevin then attempts to thwart an attempted home invasion by the Wet Bandits, two dim-witted thieves who get unrelentingly outsmarted by an eight-year-old.
Home Alone in Concert will be performed at Hamer Hall at Arts Centre Melbourne at 7.30pm Friday, December 13 and at 2pm on Saturday, December 14, right in time for Christmas.
