Time Out says

Spend a day watching fantastic queer films while raising money for a great cause

Indulge in your urge to binge watch on the weekend while also helping support young people in need. Lido and Cameo cinemas are putting on a one-day movie marathon with all the proceeds going towards Minus18, a support network for LGBTQIA young people.

Running across two cinemas – Hawthorn's Lido and Belgrave's Cameo – Yaasss! Marathon will be screening some of the best queer films from recent years and previous decades. On offer is the hilarious 1996 hit The Birdcage, starring Robin Williams, Dianne Wiest and Gene Hackman, and the 2015 documentary The Queen of Ireland, which follows drag queen Panti in the lead-up to Ireland's referendum of marriage equality. Then there's the Academy Award-winning (and beautifully shot) Moonlight, Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara's '50s romance Carol, the funny, bewildering smart phone-shot drama of 2015's Tangerine and director Andrew Haigh's 2012 drama Weekend.

Tickets are $15 per film, or $45 for marathon pass.
