[Sponsored] Break out the glow sticks: a circus-themed dance party for parents and their tiny ravers is here

Thought your partying days were over? Think again. The award-winning Big Fish Little Fish (BFLF) Family Rave has been throwing kid-friendly dance events in London to increasingly large crowds since 2013, and hit Melbourne last winter with sell-out events.

The first thing to know about BFLF is that it's a real-deal rave, with grown-up music like house, techno and rave classics, and this time around the event will be held at Chasers Nightclub on the party central Chapel Street in South Yarra. Don't worry though this matinée rave will be strictly age-appropriate, with the BFLF team transforming the club into a circus-themed extravaganza for kids aged zero to eight and their parents.

Headlining the rave is Anthony Pappa, who will be dropping serious club bangers (albeit at a much lower volume). The environment is designed to give big and little party animals an equally good time: there will be mesmerising performers, bubbles, balloons, face painting stalls, a play area with tents and tunnels to explore and a chillout zone for any babies who need some downtime.

All that raving is sure to work up an appetite so BFLF is running a circus-themed cake stall to refuel at, while parents can order from the fully licensed bar. Crafty kids are catered for as well, with a dedicated crafts corner where tots can add to a giant mural, make themed crafts or get busy with some Playdoh. For the rave's grand finale there will be a parachute dance on the multi-sensory dancefloor so stick around until the end if you can.

Big Fish Little Fish's circus extravaganza family rave is a one off event at Chaser's this year (although if you out miss you can follow them for future event announcements!), grab tickets to the July rave online. Fancy dress is encouraged, but not essential.

These family raves are just so much fun! We’ve taken our 4 month old and 2.5 year old and everyone has loved it! Bring the baby carrier for the little babes and the toddlers just love all the activities and dance floor action. Bring on the next event!

I just loved our first BFLF experience. An incredible vibe, activities at every turn... such a special memory created with our little dude. Can't wait for the next one!

These parties are so much fun for the little ones if they like good tunes, good people, bubbles, glitter and craft. There is a bar for the parents and it’s one of the few times you get to go out and dance since pre-kids. Best fun around on a Sunday afternoon with kids!!

We brought our 6 month old to the Under the Sea themed rave. Fantastic vibe as soon as you step through the door - the whole venue (La di da in the cbd) was completely kitted out and made kid-friendly. Lights, balloons, crafts, a chill out area and more importantly, sweet choones to rave to. A pretty good family event with a difference!

Been to the first two events and they are fantastic and really well thought out. Brilliant to see the kids all getting into the music and such a good vibe at the event. Loads for the kids to do including craft areas and toy areas.

We loved it and cannot recommend it highly enough
