Time Out says

Two Surf Coast institutions have joined forces for a red-hot event series

Two Lorne hotspots are teaming up and turning up the thermostat this February and early March, for a summer event series of live music, DJ and food experiences. The mix of free and ticketed events will take place across two landmark Lorne venues that just happen to be next-door neighbours: Lorne Theatre and the Clam.

Make the drive on Saturday, February 17 for the first of three ‘Live at the Lorne Theatre’ gigs. Arizona indie rock band Calexico will bring the heat to the theatre, before a screening of the Talking Heads concert film Stop Making Sense.

On the same day at the Clam, Melbourne DJ and PBS radio host Milo Eastwood will take to the decks, straight off the back of a scorching mainstage set at Meredith Music Festival

Next up, Melbourne singer-songwriter Sweet Whirl will perform a free show at Lorne Theatre on Saturday, February 24, followed by a free set from dance and ambient muso András at the Clam.

If free DJ sets are sounding good, you’ll be pleased to hear that the fun continues the next Saturday, March 2 with tunes from Darcy Justice, Jack Danzey and Barry Sunset.

Alternatively, head down for a long weekend Sunday sesh on March 10, when Japanese kraut-rockers Minami Deutsch take over Lorne Theatre alongside folk diviner Leah Senior. While you’re there, duck over to the Clam for free music from PBS radio host Adriana, while you check out the Dolmade Parde mezze of food and wine hosted by chef and owner David Moyle

Take a scenic trip along the Great Ocean Road and check out the new tavern menu at the Clam, including signature local dishes like fish sandwiches, seafood platters and crisp hand-cut chips. There’s also plenty that’s new to explore at the historic Lorne Theatre, which is fresh from a makeover.
