Australian vocalist Sophia Brous explores the timeless ritual of the lullaby

Happening as part of Supersense: Festival of the Ecstatic, Lullaby Movement sees vocal artist and composer Sophia Brous take lullabies and turn them into a song cycle. In the performance, Brous will perform lullabies in more than 25 languages alongside British multi-instrumentalist David Coulter (who has worked with the likes of Yono Ono and the Kronos Quartet) and guitarist/producer Leo Abrahams (Brian Eno, Regina Spektor, Pulp, Imogen Heap).

Brous will draw her vocal performance from languages she learned from displaced migrant and refugee communities around the world. At a time when modern-day geopolitics and migration are shaking up our understanding of what it means to be citizens of the world, Lullaby Movement explores the common and ultimately human need for safety and refuge.

Tickets to Lullaby Movement and the three-day Supersense festival are available to purchase online.
