Igloos are popping up at the Wharf Hotel again this winter

Just because it doesn’t snow in Melbourne doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy an igloo this winter. Over on the banks of the Yarra, the Wharf Hotel will be bringing back its super popular pop-up igloo garden for you to enjoy until the end of August.

Unlike their icy cousins, these antipodean igloos aren’t made of snow, but rather are transparent to best take advantage of those mint riverside views. Each igloo comes packed with chairs, a low table and plenty of plush cushions and warm throws.

Booking an igloo will set you back $49 per person, which includes your choice of beverage to share (there's a thermos of warm mulled cider, a bottle of house wine or a jug of Wharf draught) plus a platter to share filled with Wharf Hotel favourites (think pork and chive dumplings, chicken ribs with Sriracha plum sauce, flatbread with dips and pickled veggies or fried calamari with lemon wasabi aioli).

This year, guests can choose from a mini igloo which is best for four to seven guests, or a mega igloo which is available for eight to 30 guests. Think birthday parties, corporate gatherings or even hens nights.

The Wharf Hotel's igloos will be popping up from May 1 to August 31. Best to book your spot so you don't miss out – do so here.
