First came cheese tarts, then came baked cheese cakes, and next in the new wave of Japanese desserts coming to Australia is the humble apple turnover. Pafu is the new specialty pastry shop opening in Melbourne, from the folks that brought you Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tarts. They'll be peddling sweet little apple turnovers, replete with neat layers of crisp puff pastry on the outside and squidgy Fuji apples and creamy custard on the inside. The Japanese take on the classic French pâtisserie treat will retail for $4.20.

Pafu is located at QV Melbourne, Shop 1N034, Swanston St and Lonsdale St, Melbourne 3000.
