Brunch is not a meal you can rush. Nor is it a meal that should be anything less than blissfully relaxing. And what better way to unwind during brunch than with some classic R’n’B crooners?

Every Saturday the Village Belle Hotel in St Kilda is hosting R’n’Brunch: two hours where you and your mates can fill up on bottomless drinks, food and some of the best R’n’B tunes from the '90s onwards.

Brunchers will have two hours to enjoy a bottomless selection of spritzes as well as beer, wine and bubbles. Or really turn it into “one sweet day” and upgrade to bottomless Laurent-Perrier. And yes, you can order Espresso Martinis if you need the extra kick that only coffee can provide.

Alongside the drinks package, the R’n’Brunch lets guests snack on a grazing table-style spread featuring local artisanal bread, cheeses, meats, dips and seasonal fruits and vegetables. It’s arguably more of a lunchy brunch than a breakfasty brunch (it’s offered between noon and 2pm for one), so be sure not to skip brekky.

Tunes come courtesy of DJs like Duchess Kay and Christian Belvedere, and the Village Belle Hotel occasionally offers special brunches to tie in with seasonal events. R’n’Brunch costs $60 per person and can be booked online.

St Kilda Pier is being rebuilt so you can better view the fairy penguins.
