Bimbo's beloved $4 pizzas make a triumphant return to Fitzroy
The only fire we wanted anywhere near our pizzas was the nice, controlled, oven-based kind, not the terrible blaze that gutted Bimbo Deluxe last May. It has taken a full year to scrub away the char but the Fitzroy staple is back and ready to bring its party vibes back to Brunswick Street.
They've taken the opportunity to give the venue a bit of a facelift, but in great news for everyone's fun time budget, the $4 pizzas are coming back. They've also gone a bit arty, commissioning a giant mural in the beer garden from local illustrator and comic artist, Filthy Ratbag aka Celeste Mountjoy; art for the main room from Melbourne artist Elliot Routledge; and more works from Kristen Liu Wong from Los Angeles
If you're wondering if the weird science glass display of flavoured vodkas is also set for a return, we're all just going to have to wait and see. What we do know is that there will be a new menu, booth seating, and a permanent weekly events roster that includes live tunes, trivia, and weekly queer parties.
Bimbo makes its new era debut on Wed May 22 May.
