The folks behind Welcome to Thornbury has opened Hightail, an oasis for after work drinks or lunch time adventures in Collins Square, just a stone's throw away from Southern Cross Station on Collins Street.
The casual dining venue and bar is built to cater to close to 1000 patrons – so make your first stop the sweeping central bar home to 64 taps pouring 16 beers ranging from the easy-drinking to craft curve balls. On the wine front, you'll be looking at predominantly Aussie wine makers, with a big by-the-glass section that's perfect for perusing at lunch, as well as top notch bottles for special occasions.
Hungry? You've got three mini-restaurants to order from at Hightail. Check out Belle's Hot Chicken's first CBD venue for some spicy fried chicken, grab a quick burger from Mr Burger or a healthy taco salad bowl from Super Taco.
Convenience is king at Hightail, so they've devised a nifty way to order your food and drinks. The 100 Orders app allows your meal to be delivered right to your table, with orders and payment all done in the app. Come in for happy hour from 3.30pm to 6pm on Monday to Friday for discounts on selected drinks.
And if you're planning a party, Hightail is split into three sections so it's easy to section off the space you need, whether you're planning a small bash for 40 or a proper party for a few hundred guests. The team are able to cater to functions like weddings, engagements, networking drinks or a product launch, and the space comes with an AV system, catering and even an event manager to do the hard work for you.
