Ukraine has been in the global news over the last few years, but how much do you really know about the culture of the second-largest country in Europe? Our second Time Out Social Club will be hosted at the first and only Ukrainian restaurant in Melbourne, Otakoï, which this month claimed the People's Choice Award title for Favourite Restaurant in the Time Out Melbourne Food & Drink Awards 2026 (as well as being nominated for the Editors' Choice Best Restaurant Award).
This intimate dining experience goes beyond a special set menu – it will offer Time Out Melbourne readers a guided culinary journey through Ukraine. Before dinner, Hanna Kachura, who created Otakoï, will share a short story behind the restaurant, and insights into Ukrainian culture through food, including what each course represents. This 'Journey Through Ukraine' menu is designed so guests leave not only full, but feeling like they’ve travelled a little.
