Ash Flanders: Playing to Win

Time Out says

This award-winning one-man cabaret is (rather ironically) a rumination on failure

Last year, local theatre-maker, writer and cabaret artist Ash Flanders debuted his one-man show, Playing to Win, at the Melbourne Cabaret Festival. Hilarious and ascerbic, the show took out the Green Room Award for 'Best Writing in Cabaret'.

Now it's back at Midsumma Festival, and at Arts Centre Melbourne, no less. Ironically, this award-winning show is an exploration of staying afloat in the entertainment industry while striving for success.

You may know Flanders as one half of queer theatre provocateurs Sisters Grimm (Lilith: The Jungle Girl, Calpurnia Descending). For Playing to Win, he is collaborating with director Stephen Nicolazzo (Little Ones Theatre) and musical director Dave Barclay.
