While we wait patiently for release of the final season of Stranger Things, there’s a new musical coming to town to satisfy our craving. Hot off the presses and direct from Off-Broadway, the seven times award-winning musical Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical hits Melbourne this November.
This hilarious and musical take on the hit TV show is set to transport Melbourne’s Meat Market back in time to Hawkins, Indiana, 1983, for an adventure with Eleven, Dustin, Mike, Lucas and the whole gang. For lovers of the original and theatre parody enthusiasts alike, prepare for an evening full of thrilling adventure, quirky pop culture references, 80s synth and dancing Demogorgons.
Brought to Australia by Salty Theatre, the show was created by industry veterans New York based Jonathan Hogue and produced Off-Broadway by Jonathan Hogue and Nick Flatto. Salty Theatre's co-founder and director of the Australian premiere, Ashley Taylor Tickell, says they’re beyond excited to introduce this ridiculous comedic sci-fi spoof to new audiences.
“As massive fans of the franchise it truly is a rip-roaring and ludicrous love letter to the global phenomenon that is Stranger Things,” she said. Catch the humorously campy show before it jets off again for its London premiere.
