It’s the time of the month for a water ballet about periods
Call Aunt Flo: Melbourne water ballet squad The Clams have synced up to present a very special water ballet and pool party. It’s called Crimson Tide, and if you haven’t guessed it yet, it’s about periods.
The Clams are putting on a pool party with a choreographed water ballet, beats from DJ Whiskey Houston and a water disco on Saturday March 18 at Northcote Aquatic and Recreation Centre.
Crimson Tide is all about turning society’s relationship with menstruation from something shameful and embarrassing into something fun. Period.
The show has been choreographed by Holly Durant and Gabi Barton whose past work has been featured in Melbourne Fringe Festival, Sydney Festival, Midsumma and Dark Faux Mo. All profits from Crimson Tide will go to Share the Dignity, an organisation that aims to provide essential sanitary items to disadvantaged women around Australia.
