Time Out says

Get into the Christmas spirit with a free concert at Malvern East’s Central Park that the whole family can enjoy

Forget Netflix and iPads. Instead, gather the family together to experience a joyful and sparkling Christmas concert in person as the annual beloved festive concert Family Christmas at Central Park once again returns this year, proudly presented by the City of Stonnington.

Malvern East’s Central Park will transform into a Christmas wonderland on Sunday, December 11, as you hear from some of Australia’s finest vocalists and the incredible South of the River Choir.

The festivities will kick off from 6pm with fun children’s activities and roving performers, before the two-hour carol program starts at 7.30pm. Led by musical director Casey Bennetto (Keating! the Musical, Superfluity) and hosted by Michelle Brasier (Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell, Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun), Family Christmas at Central Park will feature guest performances from Rob Mills (Australian Idol, Wicked); Gillian Cosgriff (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Come Rain or Come Shine); Shauntai Sherree (Peter and the Wolf, Ragtime the Musical); and Mike McLeish (Keating! the Musical, the Drop-off). There will also be food and drink trucks and plenty of Christmas carols. Plus, there may even be a surprise visit from Santa, so get your wish-lists ready.

Proceeds from the sales of candles and concert programs on the night will go towards the mayor’s selected charity, Very Special Kids.

All are welcome to attend the free concert and come on down to enjoy the festive cheer.
