Time Out says

Experience a unique three-course dining experience from renowned chef and Bundjalung man Mark Olive at the Lume's latest stunning exhibition

Haven’t had a chance to check out Connection at the Lume yet? There’s still time to book a ticket before the next glowing exhibition rolls in. And while you’re at it, why not upgrade your visit with a three-course meal for two from renowned chef and Bundjalung man Mark Olive?

Coined ‘Feast for the Senses’, a meal at Olive's beautiful dining pop-up, Mirri, is truly the most indulgent way to experience Connection.

Located in the main gallery area, the intimate space offers sweeping views of the luminescent art on display, with stirring music and a First Nations-inspired menu designed to enhance the immersive journey. The dishes are creatively prepared and pay homage to the traditions and flavours of First Peoples with native herbs and ingredients.

Take the native herb-roasted kangaroo, for example, which comes shredded on a toasted damper roll with bush tomato relish and macadamia crumble. Other highlights on the Mirri menu include an elegant lemon myrtle chicken salad; crumbed barramundi with finger lime citrus mayonnaise, salad and saltbush-spiced potato fries; and a selection of smoked indigenous meats including kangaroo, crocodile, emu and shaved smoked ham, served with pickled vegetables, warmed aniseed myrtle olives, aged cheddar and pita.

A natural storyteller with a love of art, music and the creativity of First Nations people, Olive brings more than 40 years of culinary expertise to the Lume, the best of which you’ll taste throughout the three-course dinner experience. If you’d rather pop in for a drink and snack instead, however, Mirri also offers more casual dining options.

Tickets to the ‘Feast for the Senses’ experience are limited, with tables reserved for 1.5 hours. A seat costs $159 per person, and there’s also an option to get a front row table for an extra $10. For more information, visit the website.
