Celebrate the food, culture and traditions of Poland at Federation Square

Travel to Poland this November without having to dust off your passport with the return of the Polish Festival to Federation Square on Saturday, November 12. The Polish Festival celebrates the Polish community and the food, drinks, culture and traditions of Poland, supposedly attracting over 50,000 people to the event.

Kicking off at 11am, the schedule includes folkloric entertainment, dance workshops, children's programs and the Melbourne Polish Children’s and Youth Choir. And because what's a festival without food and drinks, the Polish Festival will be shining a light on Polish vodka, beer and traditional cuisine.

In the thick of it all, Pierogi Pierogi will be ready to feed the masses with their famous Polish dumplings. Dominika Sikorska, owner of Pierogi Pierogi, says that “Our whole year revolves around getting to [the] Polish Festival, seeing all our friends and showing Melbourne how good our pierogi taste. One year we had two security guards keeping the line in check because it was so crazy.”

The Pierogi Pierogi menu will include traditional pierogi offerings such as the Ruskie, a creamy potato and white cheese dumpling; the Kapusta, filled with mushroom and sauerkraut; and Mieso, an organic beef and vegetable pierogi. To celebrate the special annual event, the team will also be offering the Kielbasa pierogi, which is a tasty combination of smoked sausage, melted cheese and mustard. Choose your toppings which include sour cream, vegan sour cream (there will be vegan menu options available), crispy fried onions, bacon and onion jam and dill.

Consider beating the lines by getting in early.
