Can't get to the snow this weekend? Kick off the ski season with a snow party at Pontoon

This weekend is a big one: it's the Queen's Birthday long weekend and the start of the Victorian ski season. But if you're unable to make the trek up to the mountains you can still celebrate the start of the snow season in Melbourne.

Down by the beach Pontoon is kicking off the start of the ski season with a snow party. The usually coastal-chic venue will get a super cool makeover for the event, with powdered snow, ski accessories everywhere and toasty open fire pits.

Warm up with a delicious hot toddy or, for the sweet tooths, melt-your-own s'mores. There will be live DJs pumping the tunes and beer pong comps, but if you'd rather just drink beer without the risk of inhaling ping pong ball we reccommend you head in between 3pm and 4pm, when all beers will be half price.

Prefer to chill out? Grab a mug of mulled wine, a plate chilli dogs, chicken wings or hot doughnuts and find somewhere cozy by the fire for an almost-authentic après ski experience.

Pontoon's snow party is on this Saturday June 9 from 3pm until late. Entry is free, but guests are encouraged to RSVP via the Pontoon website
