The Queen Victoria Summer Night Market returns for its nineteenth summer to take us through those balmy hump days

The Summer Night Market at Queen Vic Market is attracting record crowds this summer, heating up those balmy hump days with what is now a midweek ritual.

The Summer Night Market returns to offers over 60 global street food stalls, refreshing drink selections and a vibrant summer atmosphere. This year, the market shakes things up with a weekly theme over the course of the summer, including a Midsumma celebration on January 25 and International Women's Night on March 8.

On the edibles front, Southside Smokers are returning to the night market. American pitmaster Jim Johnson will be taking over the Ole Hickory smoker to serve market goes pork spare ribs and pork shoulder cooked low and slow. Grab a Greek souvlaki from Souvla, where you'll get spring lamb, free-range chicken and marinated pork cooked in a rotisserie wrapped in one tasty souvlaki.

That’s Amore is back with their popular parmesan wheel pasta and specialty cheese bars. Simply Spanish will dish up their famous paella (recently awarded the Best International Paella), while MJR Tom heats things up with its Moroccan Kitchen serving up smoky beef koftes. For dessert, Forbidden Apples are making Yarra Valley apples dipped in caramel and sweet toppings. Look out for WonderbaoToasta, and Rice and Dice for some seriously delicious street food action.

Thirsty? The Pimm's Garden serve Pimm's jugs with a side of strawberries and cream. Coopers will serve its limited edition Amber Ale, or for those cider lovers, Cheeky Rascal Cider is available to quench a summer sized thirst. If you're after a nice glass of red, the Wine Bar will sort you out with a range of Robert Oatley Vineyards wines. As always Running Bull Sangria will be top of your hit list at the bar.

Excellent food and drink isn't the only thing to experience at the Summer Night Market. There are 130 speciality stalls selling locally made products: Will and Bear will showcase their unisex hat designs, while Bambi and Sammi will be making floral headpieces and treating punters to killer braids.

Finally, roving performers are set to join an impressive live music line-upon three live music stages. Check out the weekly live music line-up at thenightmarket.com.au.
