Time Out says

There’ll be a pop-up skatepark, DJs, games and more at this fun school holiday activation

Get ready to bring out some sick slides and crooked grinds because the District Docklands entertainment precinct is playing host to a pop-up skatepark this winter school holidays. That’s right, from June 24 until July 9, you can bring the kids along to the district to have a skate at a skatepark powered by Rampfest.

This year’s activation is bigger and better than ever before, with beginner and intermediate $20 coached lessons and free skate sessions throughout the day running between 10am and 6pm. There’ll also be giant pop-up games spread throughout the District’s Star Crescent for everyone to enjoy.

On the weekend beginning Friday, June 30, there’ll be even more to do in this action-packed pocket of inner Melbourne. The promenades and esplanades of Docklands will ignite with fiery installations, food, music and more for Firelight Festival, a celebration of winter.

The festive vibes will also extend to the District, with three late nights of food stalls, DJs and entertainment until 9pm during the festival. This makes the District the most affordable place to park and get a pre-Firelight Festival feed.

Want to linger a little longer in the precinct? Well, it’s your lucky day. The District Docklands has partnered with the area’s newest apartment hotel for a special school holiday offer. Nesuto Docklands Apartment Hotel is celebrating the winter school holidays with a special offer of a premium apartment for just $150 per night.

This offer will run alongside the Skate, Park, Play activation from June 24 until July 9. This deal also comes with a sweet extra-late 3pm check-out time, so you won’t have to worry about getting the little ones organised bright and early.

The best part? All entries to the daily skate sessions will go in the draw to win a two-night hotel stay at Nesuto, including late check-out. So, roll on down to the District Docklands for Skate, Park, Play and you could score a staycation.
