Time Out says

A rare opportunity to taste through back vintages of stunning nebbiolo

French Saloon is known for being open exclusively Monday to Friday and serving food that's, well, French. But the team will be switching things up on August 4 by firstly, being open on a Sunday, and secondly, serving an all-Italian menu to accompany the remarkable wines of the Perego family (of Ar.Pe.Pe) of Valtellina from northern Italy.

Wine lovers will be treated to a rare opportunity to listen to vigneron and proprietor of Ar.Pe.Pe Isabella Perego, who will be talking through some rare wines and back vintages from the winery, which has been in the family for over a century. She will also compare Ar.Pe.Pe's nebbiolo to antipodean examples of the varietal.

There will be four brackets of wine tasted alongside four courses, which include salumi; braised baby goat with dried apricots and soft polenta; roast duck breast with confit duck leg and duck neck sausage; gelato; and cheese from Spring Street Cheese Cellar.

Places are limited, and bookings are essential
