Time Out says

From $5 bites to dinner with George Calombaris, this is more than just a month-long food and wine festival

Prepare your palates and pack the car, because Sorrento is putting on a delicious show throughout the month of June. After a seven year hiatus, Taste Sorrento is back, and this time the festival has been re-imagined into an expanded month-long celebration with events running from June 1-30.

Head down the peninsula to partake in a celebration of everything Sorrento has to offer in the realms of gourmet food, fresh produce, wine, spirits and craft beers. There’ll be activities for every budget – think gala dinners and sushi art trains alongside kids workshops and a Wednesday $5 Bites program for those who want a taste of everything.

The festival will begin on June 1 with a bang in the form of an opening gala at the Continental. Young chef of the year Nicholas Deligiannis from Audrey's will serve up a luxe three-course dinner in an elegant setting.

Closing night on June 30 will be equally as special, featuring a finale dinner at Hotel Sorrento’s Shi Hui Shi attended by their culinary director George Calombaris. Shi Hui Shi’s head chef Jerry has planned a Cantonese feast to top off the festival.

Let the little chefs in your life cultivate their creativity during the school holidays with dedicated kids workshops and activities. Apron decorating workshops will culminate in a grand final parade of aprons on June 25, with lots of prizes to be won. There will also be a pop up childrens’ film night on June 30, and the kids should keep an eye out for Remy the Little Chef Rat throughout the month. If you snap a photo with Remy and tag #wheresremysorrento, you’ll go in the draw for some prizes.
