In case you haven't noticed, Midsumma Festival – Melbourne's rainbow-coloured celebration of queer culture – is well and truly upon us. In addition to all the parties, shows and exhibitions on offer, the Queen Vic Night Market is hosting a huge pride night.
Your host for the evening will be none other than Melbourne's drag superstar Dolly Diamond. Also on the line-up are free live performances by Ladyhood, This Way North, Dean Acuri, Tonié and Byron St John. Make sure you catch the Miss Gay and Miss Transsexual Mini Pageant on the Main Stage, and make your mark in chalk on the DIY rainbow at the entrance.
You can bet that all your Night Market faves will be there, too: grab a refreshing Pimms and snack your way around the world with the 60 street stalls on offer, then browse 130 market stalls from local makers and designers.
