What's your checklist for the perfect picnic? Friends, a picnic lunch, great whisky? If the last isn't on your list, it should be. And it definitely will be at Starward Distillery's Urban Picnic on January 27 and 28.
There might not be rolling fields at this picnic, since it is at the distillery's outdoor area, but what it lacks in greenery it more than makes up for in good drinking.
You can bring your own picnic or order a hamper from Meatsmith, and don't forget a picnic blanket, hat and sunscreen. There will be live music and entertainment from noon to 7pm both days.
On Sunday, January 27, the ice cream hotshots at Messina will be on site making whisky sundaes in their van.
And of course, there will be whisky. Fever Tree tonic is doing a pop-up bar outside (and if you have never had a whisky and tonic, you owe it to yourself to try it – it could well become your favourite drink of summer). You can also hit up the main bar inside for a whisky flight or cocktail.
