Melbourne's biggest fashion festival showcases the best of Australia's fashion industry
Australian fashion takes centre stage at the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF). Held at the Royal Exhibition Building and Melbourne Museum precinct, the two-week festival features free and ticketed events including runway shows, workshops and shopping events.
Past festival highlights include the Gala Runway, which showcases the work of Australian and international designers and the Premium Runways, which present the work of Australian designers. Aussie designers who have earned international acclaim, such as Camilla and Marc, Kate Sylvester and Thurley, as well as those who are making their VAMFF debut are represented at the festival. For those who pride themselves at being at the forefront of fashion, it's a great way to see potential fashion stars before they become famous.
Aside from the runway shows, other events such as shopping events, workshops and exhibitions will be happening around Melbourne and in regional Victoria. There will be beauty workshops for the makeup mavericks, industry seminars for those who regard fashion as their life's work and live entertainment to keep everyone feeling as good as they look.
