Lyft’s new car seat mode makes traveling with kids way easier

Parents looking to take a Lyft around town with their little ones in tow can breathe easier with the company’s Car Seat option. The new feature allows families to request a car with an installed car seat straight from the app. It’s super easy!

Cars are outfitted with IMMI Go forward-facing car seats that are suitable for kids 31 to 52 inches tall and weighing 22 to 48 pounds. The seat is not recommended for children under 12 months old. Child passenger safety technicians that have been certified under the National Child Passenger Safety Training Program have tested Lyft drivers in the Car Seat program to make sure they know how to properly install their car seat and keep it in working order. That said, parents are still encouraged to double check the seat before securing their child into it and are responsible for placing their child onto the seat and removing them at the end of the ride.

The rate for Car Seat rides is $8.98, plus sales tax and fees where applicable.
