Halloween, for kids, is the best time of the year for many reasons—especially candy. If you’ve yet to stock up on treats to hand out to kiddos who come knocking on your door, read on for this important tip. Halloween Express, an online costume shop, polled 2,000 Americans on their favorite and least favorite candies and shared the results by state. Can you guess which candy is tops in New York and which we’d quickly trade away?

According to Americans in 38 states, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are the runaway favorite when it comes to Halloween candy. The chocolatey, peanut butter delight will be sure to garner squeals from little trick or treaters (and parents looking to snag some for themselves). Hand out full size bars to be immediately labeled “Best house on the block.”

Even though it grabbed first place in 12 states, second place overall goes to Snickers bars. Other sweet runners up include Almond Joy, Kit Kat, Twix, Nerds, Sour Patch Kids, and Butterfinger so stock up on these candies and you’ll be set for tomorrow—that is if other parents haven't already cleared out those candy shelves. Plus, these are the types that you won’t mind having leftovers of come Wednesday morning!

The survey also polled people on which are their least favorite candies and we’re not totally surprised by the answers. Candy corn was the worse pick in 21 states and licorice was the worst in 13, including New York. Other types you might want to leave behind on the candy aisle are Almond Joy, Jawbreakers, Raisinets, Pixy Stix, Tootsie Rolls, Hot Tamales and Necco Wafers.

If you still have to stock up on Halloween candy, visit these amazing candy stores in NYC, and if you're on trick-or-treating duty tomorrow, these are the trick-or-treating events and neighborhoods you'll want to swing by with the tots to go home loaded with sweets.
