If your kid loves watching Thomas & Friends, reading The Railway Series or playing with toy versions of Thomas and his locomotive pals, then they're going to really toot their horns when they get a chance to ride in a life-size version of the iconic blue train.

Day Out with Thomas: The Friendship Tour 2017 is chugging into The Delaware River Railroad Excursion in Phillipsburg, New Jersey for two back-to-back 3-day weekends of non-stop, full steam ahead fun. During the special annual event, little engineers can board their favorite engine for 25-minute rides, followed by fun activities.

This year's theme is "Set Friendship in Motion," which means families can celebrate the importance of having pals like Percy, Gordon and Emily with group photos, craft projects, and a special "passport" that kids use to collect stamps and receive friendship bracelets—too bad Thomas doesn't have wrists, or else he'd want one of those!

Day Out with Thomas is at Delaware River Railroad Excursion, 99 Elizabeth Street Phillipsburg, New Jersey (877-872-4674, 877trainride.com). July 7—9 and 14—16, 10am-5pm; $21 per ticket for ages 2 and up.
