Ready to explore a "City Under the Sea"?

Soon you'll be able to visit 3,000 creatures and get an up-close look at 75-100 marine species—no scuba gear required. SEA LIFE Aquarium, the first of its kind in the Northeast, has just announced that it'll open at American Dream in spring 2021, though originally it was slated for an April 2020 debut

“The health of our guests, staff and sea creatures is of utmost importance and we are taking every step to prepare for a safe and exciting opening next year,” General Manager Camille DePascale said in a statement.

Prepare your family's future day trips accordingly, as there will be plenty of ground to cover: The aquarium is home to over 10 interactive exhibits that are considered a "fishified" take on popular NYC landmarks. You'll find the "Wall Street Wolves" piranhas, seahorses aka the "Ballet Dancers of the Ocean" and "Rush Hour of the Ocean," where yellow eels fill in for yellow cabs.

If the kids aren't tired out from their underwater exploration, have a look at the other entertainment options at American Dream: DreamWorks Water Park, the largest indoor water park in North America; Nickelodeon Universe, home to the world's steepest roller coaster or Big SNOW, the nation's first indoor snow park. Essentially, anything record-breaking is housed in the Jersey entertainment hub.

Tickets for the SEA LIFE Aquarium have yet to go on sale, but keep an eye out on the website for updates!
